About us
Our Journey
Our early days were spent organising small team in local communities, where we quickly gained a reputation for our dedication and innovative approaches. As we honed our efforts, our support base grew, driven by community engagement and our undeniable passion for helping children.
Rev. Dr. Abate Gobena and Ms Tiemar Temesgen are both residents of North Kensington who played a vital role in the establishment of our supplementary school until its registration with the charity commission by mobilising members and other supporting organisations. It all started in 2018 when Tiemar decided to provide weekly Amharic (mother tongue) lessons to teach two of her daughters and one of Fr. Abate's daughters at Kensal library in North Kensington. Currently, the supplementary school delivers a wider term time educational and leisure support for fifty three learners on Saturdays at the ClementJames centre. Fifteen of these learners are doing King David's Harp lessons at St James Church on Thursdays. The supplementary school has continued to grow, focusing on various causes while remaining dedicated to our mission. Our unwavering commitment to helping those in need has brought us to where we are today — a charity making a real impact!
